George Mitchell, President Obama’s special envoy to the Middle East, visited UNRWA’s West Bank Field Office on the 30th of January. Mr. Mitchell was given a briefing of the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The road was dreary. It was the second day after the ceasefire was announced, and people started to leave their houses. I was in a taxi going to my work in Gaza, and the whole way there I was trying to prepare myself for what I was going to see.
