JICA funds rehabilitation of infrastructure in Ein El Hilweh Camp

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) announced today the commencement of a US$ 2 million project to rehabilitate the water supply and sewage system in Sector 3 of Ein El Hilweh camp in southern Lebanon.

UNRWA chief calls on East Asian countries to strengthen support

Japan donates additional USD 2 million to UNRWA

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency, UNRWA, has opened two health centres in Jabalia and Nuseirat in the Gaza Strip. Both centres were funded by the government of Japan at a cost of nearly US$ 2 million and together they serve a refugee population of over 175,000 people.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a memorandum of understanding today with the government of Lebanon formalising Lebanon’s support to a US$ 2 million project to rehabilitate part of the infrastructure in Ein El Hillweh camp in south Lebanon.
