UNRWA film receives prize in international festival

A film by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) received second prize in the 5th Millennium International Documentary Film Festival in Brussels on Sunday.


No financial support for Jordan’s top student of 2012

Nineteen-year-old Tala Shalkhati is a bright Palestine refugee student with a dream to 'leave a fingerprint on society’. Tala received the highest score on the Tawjihi exams in Jordan in 2012, with an average score of 99.6 per cent. She is now in her first year of medicine at the Jordan University of Science and Technology.


UNRWA receives 2013 Cisco Academy Outreach Award

Palestine refugee children from five fields perform in satellite concert

Last week, Palestine refugee children from the occupied Palestinian territory, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria came together to perform in a live satellite concert. Playing traditional music, the concert created solidarity among the children and friendships where none were possible in the past.

Despite the difficult and unstable situation in Syria, UNRWA is marking World Health Day with a drawing competition for its school students in the war-torn country. Children aged 6 to 15 got busy with drawings on the theme of diabetes and high blood pressure.


UNRWA deplores killing of five Palestine children refugees

It is with great distress that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has learned of the violent deaths of five Palestine refugee children, one in Dera'a on 15 March and four others in the Damascus area on 19 March. Four of the children reportedly died as a result of the use of heavy weapons.
