Support line launches for domestic violence victims

As an emergency telephone line for victims of domestic violence launches in Syria, a pioneering project is training lawyers, social workers and volunteers to support affected women.

UNRWA Opens US-funded School in Dera’a Camp

UNRWA unveiled a building today in Dera’a that will house a new school for girls. The Ein Karemen Girls School was funded generously by a USD 822,600 donation from the United States government.

‘During spring and early summer the Syrian countryside blossoms. From the rolling hills in its northern limits to its vast southern plains, Syrian countryside is covered in a wash of colour,’ says Lubna, a young UNRWA teacher, to her class of eight to ten year olds.
