Through its recycling programme, UNRWA in Lebanon has raised enough money to buy a custom-made wheelchair for a young Palestine refugee with cerebral palsy.

The United Arab Emirates Red Crescent (UAERC) has generously donated USD 54,451 towards the distribution of sheep for poor families in Gaza during the Muslim feast of Eid el Adha.

The youngest of seven children, ten-year-old Nour's family was too poor to afford her birth certificate. With no proof of birth, she couldn’t go to school with her friends.

Brimming with self-confidence, Iman’s hands race between gestures as she shares her thoughts with classmates without speaking. Resisting the limits imposed by her disability, the 24-year-old woman uses sign language to communicate with fellow students at UNRWA’s Gaza Training College.
|Bahrain donates USD 50,000 to UNRWA for education, health, and relief|

The Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain has contributed USD 50,000 to UNRWA, to help deliver critical health, education, and humanitarian programmes for five million Palestine refugees in the region.

4 December marks International Day of Persons with Disability. On this occasion, the disability programme of the relief and social services department organised a fun day in Ramallah along with a handicraft exhibition, produced by people with special needs.
|Urgent renewed UNRWA appeal for Gaza’s emergency programmes|

UNRWA has renewed its appeal for urgently needed emergency assistance in the impoverished Gaza Strip. The appeal for US$ 36 million comes amid protests against reductions in emergency activities that have already been caused by severe funding shortfalls.
