Internships

Headquarters and field offices

A limited number of unpaid internships are offered in the Agency’s offices in Amman, Beirut, and Jerusalem, and at the Representative Office New York and Representative Office to the EU in Brussels.

A limited number of unpaid internships are also offered each year in the Agency’s Headquarters in Amman, Jordan.

Placements in UNRWA’s fields of operations in Gaza and Syria are not available at this time due to UN security restrictions.

Internships last from three to a maximum of 11 months.

If you are interested in applying, please send a copy of your CV/resume and a covering letter to internship@unrwa.org clearly stating the objective of the internship and in which UNRWA field you are interested.

UNRWA representative offices

Unpaid internship opportunities are also open at the Representative Office New York and Representative Office to the EU in Brussels, for a minimum of three months and a maximum of six.

The positions are available preferably on full-time basis, and may be renewed subject to requirements of the office. Interns will contribute to UNRWA's inter-agency, non-governmental and donor liaison tasks, as well as public information work, and provide other support as needed.

The internships provide a valuable opportunity to familiarise yourself with substantive humanitarian and development policy issues and the UN system.

In Brussels, applications are welcome from master’s degree holders or students enrolled in a master’s degree programme. In New York, applicants must be enrolled in a master’s degree programme. Applications should include a cover letter of motivation, a CV/resume and a short writing sample on a relevant subject.

Fluency in written and spoken English is a requirement. Only candidates under consideration will be contacted.
