Key facts and figures
- In 2012, the United States and the European Commission were the two largest donors to UNRWA. Furthermore, their total contributions represented 47.7 per cent of the overall funding received by the Agency.
- EU member states contributed USD 467.2 million in 2012 (including through the European Commission) representing 51.2 per cent of the Agency’s income.
- In 2012, 19 out of the 27 member states of the European Union contributed to UNRWA with a total income of USD 265.6 million.
- In 2012, contributions from states represented over 92 per cent of total contributions received by UNRWA. The remaining funds were received from international organisations, the UN system, foundations, NGOs and private donations.
