A large German delegation, led by the Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Mr. Thomas Silberhorn, visited Gaza on 12 May and announced a new EUR 37 million (US$ 41 million) contribution to the UNRWA shelter assistance programme in Gaza.

UNRWA continued humanitarian operations in Yalda, Babila and Beit Saham today. The UNRWA team provided essential health services, vaccinations and child nutritional supplements contributed by WFP and UNICEF. Humanitarian activities continue in Tadamoun, to the north-east.

UNRWA resumed humanitarian operations in Yalda, Babila and Beit Saham today, following a one week break due to security concerns. The UNRWA team provided essential health services, dental services, vaccinations, nutritional supplements and fresh food sufficient to feed 600 civilians for one week.
