Oum Moussa, a mother of four from Khan Eshieh camp, fled the war in Syria with her family and sought refuge in Burj Barajneh camp in Beirut, where she faces the challenges of life in Lebanon with courage and the hope of returning to her country

UNRWA launched today two international appeals totaling US$ 813 million to fund the emergency response to the crisis in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and to meet the critical humanitarian needs of Palestine refugees affected by the conflict in Syria, including those displaced into Lebanon and Jordan

Mohammad Adnan Alwesh and his family – consisting of his wife Samah and their three kids, Tareq, Rayan and Adnan – fled from Yarmouk camp in Damascus in 2014. Their life in Amman has been far from easy since. Mohammad’s family are among the more than 3,500 Palestine refugee families from Syria who rely on UNRWA cash assistance in Jordan. The family of five lives in a small, unfurnished apartment in Jabal al-Hussein, a neighbourhood in Amman. Since 2011, the continuing political upheaval in Syria has driven many Palestine refugees from Syria (PRS) like Mohammad’s family to flee to Jordan. Life...

As part of the international 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, which ran from 25 November to 10 December, the UNRWA Child and Family Protection programme and the Community Mental Health Programme organized an event in Fawwar camp where participants released balloons with messages promoting the call to support women’s education and end violence against women and girls
