The Government of Germany through the German Development Bank (KfW) contributed this week EUR 3 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) during a signing ceremony in East Jerusalem. The funds will be used to construct two UNRWA schools in the Gaza Strip.

Eight-year-old Ahmad was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of three. Ahmad’s family lives in Burj Barajneh refugee camp in Lebanon, where cancer treatment options are limited. Two years ago, a bone-marrow transplant failed, making his family lose hope in his recovery.
