The German government has made an additional donation of EUR 2m to help feed 667,500 food-insecure and vulnerable Palestine refugees living in Gaza. The funds are in support of UNRWA’s 2012 Emergency Appeal.
The impact of the armed conflict in Syria continues to be borne predominantly by Syrians. The Agency notes with great concern that Palestine refugee communities in Damascus and its suburbs are experiencing, more than ever before, the effects of the escalating armed conflict in Syria.
The first shipment of Turkish wheat flour arrived in Gaza today, to feed more than 129,000 families supporting 687,000 dependents. The full in-kind donation of 12,500 metric tonnes of flour is worth USD 6.6 million.
Palestine refugees were among the 80 young people who completed a football training camp run by Manchester City in Lebanon this month. In partnership with UNRWA, two coaches brought training to boys and girls in a refugee camp.
