The Lebanese Academy for Fine Arts (l’Alba) hosted on April 30, 2013 the screening of the documentary “Someone like Me…” produced within the framework of the “Dignity for All” campaign, launched in 2010 by UNRWA with the support of the European Commission – Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Office (ECHO). The campaign aims to enhance enhancing public knowledge and understanding on the plight of Palestine refugees in Lebanon, and to improve the mutual perceptions of the Lebanese and Palestinian communities through advocating for preserving human values for Palestine refugees living in Lebanon using a key message: “Every person has the right to live in dignity”.


Germany funds the rehabilitation of shelters and the water network in Rashidieh camp

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the Federal Republic of Germany through the Federal Bank for Development (KFW) announced today the official launch of two German funded projects focused on water supply network improvement and shelter rehabilitation in Rashidieh Camp in southern Lebanon.

UNRWA condemns mass displacement of Palestine refugees in Syria

Palestine refugees in Syria are being killed, injured and displaced in greater numbers than ever before, as the armed conflict continues to overwhelm refugee camps across the country. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) now estimates that approximately 235,000 Palestine refugees have been displaced inside Syria and is particularly concerned about news that was confirmed today on the displacement of some 6,000 Palestinians from Ein El Tal on 26 April, a Palestine refugee camp some 12 kilometres from Aleppo in northern Syria.
