Navarra Regional Government donates EUR 100,000 to UNRWA emergency programme

For the third year running, the Spanish Regional Government of Navarra has contributed EUR 100,000 to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency’s (UNRWA) mobile health clinics, which provide primary health care to particularly vulnerable communities in the West Bank due to their isolated locations or close proximity to the West Bank Barrier.


Zaragoza council, Spain donates EUR100,000 to support refugee jobs in West Bank

The Zaragoza local council in Spain has made a generous donation of EUR100,000 to support UNRWA’s cash-for-work employment programme. The funds will enable UNRWA to provide job opportunities to nearly 300 unemployed Palestine refugees in the West Bank.


Galicia Regional Government donates EUR 25,000 to Gaza school food

A donation from the Galicia Regional Government towards UNRWA’s school feeding programme in the Gaza Strip will enable UNRWA to provide 144,794 meals to 5,569 students during 26 school days in 2012.


Andalucía contributes EUR 1 million to UNRWA mother and child health care

The regional government of Andalucía has confirmed a EUR 1 million donation to support mother and child health-care services provided by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). This is the fourth consecutive year that Andalucía has helped the Agencyprovide quality and accessible family health care for Palestine refugee women and their children throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.

The Biscay regional government of Spain has contributed nearly EUR 115,000 to the Syria humanitarian response plan of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which provides urgent humanitarian assistance to up to 350,000 Palestine refugees and others affected by the conflict in Syria.

Spanish foundation Intervida donates EUR 200,000 to support Palestine refugees in Gaza

For the second year, the Spanish foundation Intervida has donated 200,000 euros in support of Palestine refugees in the Gaza Strip through UNRWA. In 2011, some 70 per cent of refugees in the Gaza Strip relied on UNRWA aid, a figure seven times higher than before 2002.


Regional Spanish government gives EUR 40,000 to food for schoolchildren
