UNRWA chief opens rehousing project for refugees in Rafah, Gaza

UNRWA Commissioner-General Filippo Grandi yesterday welcomed a Saudi Fund delegation to Rafah, Gaza, to celebrate the building of thousands of Saudi-funded homes for Palestine refugees displaced by the 2008-2009 conflict.


Saudi Arabia pledges $71 million for Gaza housing

Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) will finance refugee housing in Rafah, Gaza, to the tune of US$ 71.5 million.


One Laptop Per Child and UNRWA Partner to Provide Laptops for Palestinian Children

One Laptop per Child, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to help provide every child in the world access to a modern education, is partnering with UNRWA to bring new learning opportunities to nearly half a million Palestine refugee children by 2012.


Rafah refugee camp

Over the year, thousands of refugees moved from Rafah camp to a nearby housing project, making the camp almost indistinguishable from the adjacent city.
