UNRWA camps in Jordan are coming alive as murals adorn the walls of the UNRWA schools and health centers. The mural project which kicked off in Nuzha, Zarqa, and South Amman areas, is a creative project fostering community engagement through art and teaches children about the humanitarian principles, namely: humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence. It is a collaborative effort between the Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA), UNRWA staff, children, local artists, and the broader Palestine refugee community. Organised by the UNRWA Protection team under the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), the activity celebrates core UN values.

These murals showcase themes of unity, empathy, cultural pride, perseverance, and human dignity, strengthening bonds between children, their community and UNRWA staff through discussions about challenges and solutions. Since its inception in 2021, the murals have promoted humanitarian principles and offered psychosocial support to children.
