The latest escalation of violence in Gaza is having a devastating impact on the population. Hundreds of homes have been destroyed, and thousands more damaged. Israeli authorities also periodically send evacuation warnings. Already, thousands have fled, seeking safety and protection in UNRWA facilities. The New Gaza Preparatory Boys School, in Gaza City, is currently the largest designated emergency shelter in Gaza, opening its doors to provide refuge to people who have, yet again, found themselves displaced and uprooted by conflict. UNRWA is also working to maintain vital regular operations, from sanitation labour to food distributions and medical services.
