Providing Palestine Refugee Children in Jerash with the Tools They Need to Succeed
For the second year in a row, the Chalhoub Group of Saudi Arabia has donated school bags and kits for Palestine refugee school girls and boys in Jordan. This year, the group donated 2,500 school bags and kit to Palestine refugees’ school students from grades 1 to 3 in Jerash camp and to children attending the camp’s Community-Based Rehabilitation Centre (CBRC). In 2015, the Group donated 1,500 bags and stationery to Palestine refugee children registered under the Agency’s Social Safety Net in the North Amman area.
The Chalhoub Group is one of 207 companies in the Middle East that are members of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Through this membership, the Chalhoub Group is committed to aligning its operations and strategies with the 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. The group has more than 75 companies across the region in 14 countries.
Through this donation, the Chalhoub Group, in its partnership with UNRWA, is helping to ensure that these children are able to fully participate in the classroom, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in school.
