Psychosocial training for Gaza teachers
19 September 2014
UNRWA is supporting the children, parents and teachers who returned to school in Gaza this week through an innovative, three-phase ‘back to school’ programme. As part of the first phase, 7,800 UNRWA teachers have been trained in the provision of psychosocial support.
The counselling and support provided to teachers, students and parents will continue throughout the school year. This will include learning and recovery activities, diversified teaching styles, group work opportunities, child-friendly discipline and peer support for teachers and other educationalists.
