As the world celebrates International Workers' Day, I had the privilege of visiting the UNRWA Sanitation Office in Rafah, Gaza. The centre’s 22 employees serve over 133,000 Palestine Refugees in the area. From drivers, plant attendants, storekeepers, maintenance workers, to foremen, and chief foremen, each performs their duties with utmost professionalism and commitment. -
Today the Hashemite University and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to provide academic medical training to a group of UNRWA doctors in primary health care and family medicine to improve the quality of health-care services provided to Palestine Refugees. The MOU was signed by Mr. Olaf Becker, Acting Director of UNRWA Affairs in Jordan, and Professor Dr. Khaled Abu al-Tin, the Vice President of Hashemite University. -
