Philippe Lazzarini, UNRWA Commissioner-General, concluded his first official visit to the Republic of Korea on 6 October. During the two-day visit, Mr. Lazzarini engaged with high-level government officials and representatives from civil society to further solidify the growing partnership between UNRWA and Korea, and to raise awareness about the situation of Palestine Refugees in the Middle East.

Continuing Vital Health-Care Support for Displaced Palestine Refugees BEIRUT, UNRWA is providing health-care services to the displaced Palestine Refugees from Ein El Hilweh camp, including for those who seek refuge in the emergency shelters located in UNRWA schools and premises. Iceland’s Foreign Minister Ms. Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir and UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini signed a multi-year framework agreement for the years 2024-2028 in support of Palestine Refugees in UNRWA’s five fields of operation. The signature took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Today, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Sweden co-hosted, in the presence of United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, a High-Level Ministerial meeting in support of Palestine Refugees and UNRWA on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly.
