Bridegroom in a Backpack

09 April 2019

The ‘Bridegroom in a Backpack’ play was created to highlight women’s rights and raise awareness on early marriage, women’s right to inheritance and education. It also highlights girls’ hopes and dreams for their futures. The play also addresses violence and abuse. The play was a core component of UNRWA Child and Family Protection Programme activities for the 16 Day Campaign of Activism against gender based violence (GBV). The play was staged all across the West Bank and was attended by hundreds of Palestine refugees. Staged by the Naám Theatre, a company the Agency has been working with since 2014.
