Five Balloons for a Shekel

Meet Hussein, Ali, and Ayesh, three generations of Palestine refugees. Having already been plunged into abject poverty by the protracted Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, their lives and livelihoods have become even further affected by the global food crisis.

Together, their stories tell a tale of extreme hardship and illustrate how absolutely critical the food and cash assistance provided by UNRWA and the EU's Food Facility has become.

With the vital help of the EU's Food Facility, a special fund created to respond to the global food crisis, UNRWA provides relief for those hardest hit: children, young people, people with disabilities, and the elderly.
