Throughout her long life, the Hajjeh has been witness to much of Palestinian history. As a young girl, she fled her home during the 1948 War. Her family had to flee yet again when the 1967 conflict came to their doorstep. Throughout the 70s and 80s, she watched as the world around her was mired in civil war and conflict. The 90s brought fresh hopes for a new political horizon, which dimmed in the 2000s as walls went up and borders were closed. But through it all, the Hajjeh has persevered, a symbol of resilience, family, warmth and hope to many. From now until 10 June, follow the Hajjeh as she walks alongside UNRWA and marks 50 years of occupation. #StillRefugees
