"Life essentials are a distant dream." Hussein, an UNRWA staff member in the Gaza Strip, talks about conditions at the UNRWA Khan Younis Training Centre (KYTC) in southern Gaza where he is sheltering with his family. The number of internally displaced people has now increased to 600,000 in 150 UNRWA facilities. This is 4x more than what UNRWA originally planned as part of its crisis response before the war started. The shelters are overcrowded and lack privacy.
