Amar al-Jabari, also known as 'Abu Salim, used to work in construction before he and his family were displaced to the Khan Younis Training Centre (KYTC) in southern Gaza shortly after the outbreak of war. He used ancestral methods to build a firewood stove to cook food for his family and other internally displaced people in KYTC who are now his neighbours. His traditional stove helps him generate a modest income, helping to cover his family's basic needs.
