"There is no water; there is no food; there is nothing to drink. There is no life." An internally displaced person sheltering at an UNRWA school in Deir el-Balah in the Gaza Strip describes the desperate living conditions after two weeks of full siege followed by limited access to humanitarian supplies, including medical supplies, food, and drinking water. The lack of clean water poses serious risks for public health and the spread of disease. Some cases of acute respiratory infections, diarrhea and chicken pox are reported among internally displaced persons.
