International Day of Persons with Disabilities
On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the EU and UNRWA want to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
Disability inclusion is an essential condition to upholding human rights, sustainable development, peace and security. Even in normal circumstances, persons with disabilities are less likely to access health care, education, employment and to participate in the community. The global crisis of COVID-19 is deepening pre-existing inequalities, exposing the extent of exclusion and highlighting that work on disability inclusion is imperative.
The European Union support the dignity, rights and well-being of #PalestineRefugeesAtRisk. Together we seek to increase awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities and work towards an integrated approach to ensure that persons with disabilities are not left behind. #EU_UNRWA #IDPWD #DisabilityDay
