UNRWA Commissioner-General visits collective shelters in Jaramana Camp
16 May 2014
UNRWA Commissioner-General Pierre Krähenbühl paid his first visit to Syria on Wednesday (14 May) to see for himself the extreme hardship that Palestine refugees in Syria are facing as a result of the ongoing armed conflict. During his time in Damascus, the Commissioner-General visited displaced Palestine refugees, now housed in temporary shelters at two UNRWA schools in Jaramana camp. Listening to stories of tragedy and hardship told by the refugees, Mr. Krähenbühl pledged that UNRWA would continue to make every effort to support and assist Palestine refugees in this time of acute vulnerability.
