This World Teachers Day, former UNRWA students give thanks to two special teachers who inspired them – Sana’ Hamaam from Khan Younis Basic Girls School in Gaza and Yousif Adawi from Dheisheh Boys School in the West Bank.
Sana’ and Yousif are just two of the 22,000 extraordinary UNRWA teachers who each day educate nearly 500,000 Palestine refugee children in 700 schools across Syria, Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan and Lebanon.
UNRWA thanks its top five regular budget donors – the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, Sweden and Norway – for their support, without which the education programme would not be possible.
