TOMS and UNRWA began their partnership in 2015 and work together improve the well-being of Palestine refugee children in Gaza and Jordan by providing comfortable footwear, relieving poor families of an important expense.

TOMS is a company unlike most others, driven by a central objective of identifying needs and developing products to address them. For some Palestine refugee families with low household incomes, acquiring a new pair of shoes often means forfeiting other basic needs. In order to respond to these vital needs, the Californian lifestyle company gives a new pair of shoes to children in need for every pair purchased, making a difference in these families’ lives.

Impact of the partnership

Over 250,000 pairs of TOMS shoes have been distributed in Jordan to UNRWA students and to children out of school from the most vulnerable families in North Amman, South Amman, Irbid and Zarqa.
In Gaza, over 100,000 Palestine refugee students received a pair of TOMS shoes during the winter in 2015.
