Health department annual report 2004

Tuesday, December 28, 2004

During the last few years, the health programme continued to operate under extremely difficult circumstances of rising costs, rising expectations and limited resources. Changes in the demographic and epistemological profile of the refugee population have been associated with the arrival of the whole group of non-communicable diseases on top of the persisting threat of communicable diseases and nutritional deficiencies. The limited financial and human resources allocated to the programme continued to thwart our attempts to expand health infrastructure of primary facilities or to offset excessive workloads.
