This report provides an overview of UNRWA's Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services to the population of Gaza in the current war, as well as its plans to meet growing MHPSS needs there.
Over 300 days of war have worsened the ongoing mental health crisis in Gaza, inflicting severe and enduring mental health consequences on the population that necessitate a comprehensive and long-term MHPSS response. The severe restrictions placed on overall humanitarian access, including access to critical mental health services and medication, are exacerbating the suffering. Vulnerable groups, including individuals with pre-existing psychiatric disorders, are particularly affected.
