Syria: UNRWA - Achievements and Highlights in 2017

Funding Status 2017

In January 2017, UNRWA launched its 2017 Syria Emergency Appeal, requesting a total of USD 329 million to meet the basic needs of Palestine refugees in Syria. As of 31 December 2017, the Agency had received USD 141.7 million, representing 43.1% of emergency requirements.

Ra’ed Imad opened his dress shop in Jaramana, near Damascus, 14 years ago. He took out his first loan in 2007, for 15,000 SYP, approximately US$ 300 USD at the time, to allow him to expand his business.
