In 2021, considerable challenges presented by COVID-19 across all fields of UNRWA operation, hostilities in Gaza, the ongoing conflict in Syria and the economic crisis in Lebanon. The UNRWA Health Programme continued to deliver comprehensive primary health-care services to Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank and Gaza.
Through the Agency’s network of 140 Primary health centres (HC), 3,046 health staff provided more than 7 million medical consultations - (in person and telemedicine). Additionally, the Agency supported patient access to secondary and tertiary health services, including hospitalization for COVID-19 treatment.
