Relief and Social Services Reform Strategy

01 January 2011

UNRWA, with the support of donors, has made considerable strides in its ability to identify and evaluate poverty amongst the refugee community.  The Agency has also completed considerable groundwork to underwrite change, including evaluations of the RSS programme and structure as well as seminal programme delivery change possibilities.  Responding to the findings of evaluations, equipped with a better understanding of poverty amongst Palestine refugees, and amid a raft of organizational and operational changes, UNRWA is responding with proposed reforms to the Relief and Social Services Programme. The objective of these reforms is to enable the Agency to provide more services with greater positive impact to vulnerable refugees.
